BELT SYSTEM

Krav Maga since its inception as a civilian martial art by its founder Imi Lichtenfeld has had a colored belt system to grade the progress of its students.

The belt system has 6 colors, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown and black. The belt system exists to provide a structure to the learning process and should not be seen as the end goal. The belts and the curriculum provide the instructors with a standardized way of teaching and measuring a student’s growth in the system but the ultimate goal is for us to teach and for the student to learn functional self defense and fighting.
